Our Mission

To improve the dog’s quality of life. We teach our clients on how to have their pup(s) live in a highly dense and populated city. By utilizing our system of structure, exercise and affection (S.E.A). With structure we educate our clients on how to properly lead their pups and guide them. We incorporate exercise to stimulate their body and mind. Combine affection and our clients are able to enjoy everyday activities such as family gatherings, sporting events or outings. Our goal is to share this knowledge so that we can bring out the best version of your pup(s).

About Us

Basic

We started in the winter of 2019 to change the approach of dog care in Hoboken, New Jersey. Luv K9 does not discriminate based off of behaviors, age or breed. As long as the parent(s) are open minded and willing to put in the work. We are proud Hobokenites who live and work here. We are very passionate about giving back, since 2020 we have donated over $4000 worth of dog kibble, products, etc. to various dog shelters and rescues. Luis and Nyomie Perez also received a proclamation from Mayor Ravi Bhalla of Hoboken, New Jersey. It was for improving the welfare of the town by voluntarily picking up over 900 bags of dog stool over a weekend. We also have 3 pups of our own. Sadie (hound mix) was a rescue from Berkley Heights she was adopted in May 2020. Stevie (English cream golden retriever) was a surrender due to bite history. We adopted her in January 2021. Sergeant (Shepard/Belgian mix) was abandoned and neglected by his previous owners. We took him in February 2022. They are also the faces of our LUV K9 Logo.

"It's not possible to put into words how amazing the LUVK9 team is to us and our beloved baby, Mia, but we'll try. The bottom line is that the LUVK9 team couldn't be made up of better people and the care and love they give to Mia (and all the dogs they care for) are unmatched, as far as we can see. As for the team: We met Luis when we rescued Mia in August 2018 and we instantly were impressed by his dedication, passion, and patience for us and our new puppy. Luis took care of Mia almost everyday while we were at work, and we never had to worry that she wasn't in the best hands. He went out of his way to introduce us to new techniques and new gear selected specifically to help Mia become a better walker and listener. When Luis founded LUVK9 (then Luv on a Harness) a few months later, we knew we wanted him to continue taking care of Mia, and we're so glad that he did. We met Nyomie, Luis's better half, who meets Luis's compassion and dedication -- a feat that, if you ever have had the pleasure of meeting Luis, is hard to do. We then were lucky to meet JR, Nyomie's brother, who is equally kind and patient. The team continues to grow (shoutout to Javier) and so does the love and care that LUVK9 gives Mia. That's attributable to the caliber of person who LUVK9 brings into the family. And we know we're not alone in feeling this way about LUVK9 - - anytime we've met with other pup parents, they, too, rave about LUVK9. We're not surprised. We trust these guys with our "first born" and can't imagine not having them in our lives. As for their service, it's obvious to anyone who sees them that they love what they do and go about it professionally. We have seen way too many walkers dragging dogs behind them or treating the dogs like an afterthought while they're busy texting on their phones. Not with LUVK9. They not only are professional and focused (you have to see their structured pack walks), but they are dependable and have bent over backwards for us on several occasions. That's why we - - and countless others --have stuck with LUVK9 ever since our first interaction: they are simply the best."

We've been using Luv K9 since 2020 (back when it was just Luis and Nyomie). Both of our pups, Elphie and Mochi, LUV them so much that they happily leave with them to go on walks even when we're home. The Luv K9 team has expanded since then, but their dedication and luv for every pup they walk hasn't changed. They're always super responsive, flexible, and adapt to every pup's needs. Mochi is a rescue, and they've really helped him come out of his shell over the past few years. "Words can’t even describe how lucky my wife and I were to come across Luv K9 almost 3 years ago when we were training our mini bernedoodle (Loki) and needed a daily routine of pack walks! Luis, Nyomie , JR and the whole Luv K9 crew were instrumental in the development of our dogs behavior when he walks, socializes & plays! Loki would look forward to his daily walks as he grew to love his companions that he walked with as well as the K9 crew who he would hug as soon as they came in the door! (My dogs a hugger) Not only did they help train and walk Loki, they also are phenomenal for boarding as they care for your dog as one of theirs , and keep your dog at their home with their family pups as well as give plenty of updates and pictures during their stay! They are very communicative about their walks, their schedule, and extremely observant about your dog and their behavior. Luis and Nyomie have given us so many tips we still use when walking and socializing Loki and they would continuously update you on your dogs progress if you were working on improving their behavior! I am extremely thankful that Luv K9 helped mold Loki into the wonderful pup he is today, and we’d still be using them daily if we didn’t have to move away! In fact we became so close that we still bring Loki up to visit when we’re back in Hoboken , and he gets excited to see his Luv K9 friends who we consider family! This is the best dog walking business in Hoboken and I dare say NJ, and we still keep in touch all the way from Middletown NJ! You cannot find a more caring and loving group to help walk & care for you dog!"
